Saraswatmatch.com is a technology initiative of All India Saraswat Cultural Organization.
Also popularly known as AISCO, it was formed in the year
1972 in Mumbai as voluntary apex body for all Saraswat Organizations. Under the banner of AISCO a number of culture related initiatives have been undertaken which include one
Vishwa Saraswat Sammelan at Mangalore in 1999 (in which at least 15,000 participants from all over the world participated), five All India Saraswat Conventions, various performing art functions, publications of books and periodicals, etc.
The problem of finding suitable match for eligible boys and girls is becoming more acute by the day due to increasing dispersal of Saraswats across the nation and the globe. This recurrent theme has been voiced almost at all cultural forums and get-togethers.
The prevalent system of organizing Vadhuvar Melavas (i.e. bride-groom meetings) for matchmaking at suburb / town / city level, suffers from limitation of choice available in the group at that point in time and place. Also, when one looks at the choice offered by five or six major, existing matchmaking web sites, they predominantly cater to all sections of the society and are not focused for
Saraswats as such. Thus a need was felt to organize one web site where comprehensive and satisfactory search for ideal match is available for all Saraswats.
Saraswatmatch.com addresses both these shortcomings squarely, while keeping the option of choosing Non-Saraswat applicants also open for wider choice.
